Almost 3,400 leaders of nonprofits across all 50 states and a wide range of sizes, missions, and work areas raised their voices through the latest State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey, conducted by the Nonprofit Finance Fund. They said:
• Demand continues to rise faster than nonprofits’ ability to meet it: 86% of Survey respondents say demand for their services is rising, and 57% say they don’t think they can meet it.
• They continue to move forward with characteristic determination and creativity: 54% of respondents increased staff and 55% increased compensation in 2017.
• They are very worried about the people they serve: 67% say the federal government’s 2017 actions and words made life harder for their clients.
