TPF announces availability of 2019 GSK Impact Awards

The Philadelphia Foundation and GSK have issued the call for applications for the 2019 GSK IMPACT Awards. This annual awards program recognizes effective local nonprofit organizations that are working hand-in-hand with the community to break down health barriers in communities across the five-county region in order to make neighborhoods healthier.

"Local nonprofit organizations make Greater Philadelphia a healthier place to live and work," said Becki Lynch, Director, US Community Partnerships, GSK. "Through our GSK IMPACT Awards program, we celebrate organizations that help our neighbors access healthy foods and stay active, find high-quality jobs and education, and strengthen their family and social supports -- because we know that these things are fundamental to a healthy community."

The GSK IMPACT Awards program is one of several charitable programs GSK offers in the U.S. as part of a commitment to building healthier communities and a healthier America. This is the 23rd year of the IMPACT Awards program. To date over $10 million has been awarded across Greater Philadelphia and the Triangle Region, N.C.

"We're proud to continue our partnership with GSK not only on the IMPACT Awards but also GSK Opportunity Scholarships and the collective Get Hype Philly! Initiative," said Pedro A. Ramos, President and CEO of the Philadelphia Foundation. "GSK sets a stellar example of corporate community commitment and leadership. The organizations that receive these awards are highly effective and rooted in the community, often providing direct service to some of our region's most vulnerable residents."
