RSVP matches volunteers with community-based opportunities that benefit disadvantaged preschool children, at-risk-youth, the elderly, veterans, those with low reading and STEM literacy skills and support to other nonprofits.
During the summer, RSVP’s school-based children’s literacy programs America Reads, Family Literacy and Protégé Mentoring are holding workshops in Willow Grove on July 30, in Berwyn on August 13 and in Media on August 22. Whether experienced or new to these programs, all are welcome. For more information contact MaryAnn (610)834-1040 ext. 139
Currently, RSVP’s Protégé Mentoring Program is in need of volunteers interested in mentoring a local student who has been identified by school counselors as a child who would greatly benefit from a consistent and reliable adult in his or her life. Adult mentors befriend students who are often dealing with difficult circumstances in their lives.
Drivers to assist the elderly or disabled with shopping and rides to appointments are also in great demand, especially during the summer vacation period
