Why We Give is an event that explore what makes female philanthropy unique. It’s a symposium of South Jersey organizations that have women's philanthropy and volunteerism in their mission.
Keynote speaker Dr. Debra Mesch of the Lilly School of Philanthropy & Women’s Philanthropy Institute at Indiana University will discuss the powerful impact of women’s movements, and ways women’s giving differs from men’s. Two panels, “Why We Give” and “How We Give,” will showcase a diverse mix of local women’s giving initiatives and foundations and provide insights into how and why investing time, talent and treasure can strengthen communities. Jennifer Lewis-Hall, WPHL17 community relations manager and anchor of “In Focus” will moderate the panel.
“There are many communities of women quietly making a difference in South Jersey. Unfortunately, they don’t know that each other exist. We hope to introduce them and open the door for potential collaboration and greater impact,” says Kyle Ruffin, chair of “Why We Give.”
“Why We Give” is March 20th from 8:30 am to Noon at Rowan College at Burlington County in Votta Hall (900 College Circle, Mt. Laurel). Admission is $20.
