SOWN helps grandparents help children with reading skills

Philly Families Read Together, a program of the Supportive Older Women's Network, supports grandparents who are deeply involved in the lives of their grandchildren, 3-8 years old, including early literacy.

This free 18-week program provides in-depth discussions and materials that guide grandparents in incorporating early reading skills into activities at home, at school, and in the community. We are seeking participants, partners, and host sites for the next cohort, which will start with the 2020-2021 school year.

Philly Families Read Together is funded by the William Penn Foundation, Family Literacy Initiative.
