African American Chamber highlights gathering of mayors

August is National Black Business Month and the African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE is launching our signature initative #BuildingBackBlack by convening Mayors to discuss issues impacting black businesses and sharing best practices that will stimulate growth for black businesses in urban cities.

In partnership with 6abc, the African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE (AACC) produced a townhall with Mayors Hardie Davis, Jr. (Augusta, GA), LaToya Cantrell (New Orleans, LA), Thaddeous Kirkland (Chester, PA) Steven Benjamin (Columbia, SC), Muriel Bowser (Washington DC), Marty Small, Sr. (Atlantic City, NJ) and Brandon Scott (Baltimore, MD). Moderated by 6abc Action News Anchor Sharrie Williams and hosted by AACC President Regina A. Hairston, this townhall reflects on the current state of black business in these cities, with highly dense African-Amercian populations.

Additionally, local Philadelphia thought leaders Mayor Jim Kenney, US Black Chamber President Ron Busby, TD Bank Regional Vice President Damien Ghee, Congressman Dwight Evans, Councilmembers Derek Green and Cherelle Parker, State Representatives Joanna McClinton and Donna Bullock, Commerce Director Michael Rashid, AACC Board Chairman Steven Scott Bradley and Former Mayor Michael Nutter are featured in this special providing local insight and perspective.

On Wednesday, August 11th at 9am, YOU will have the opportunity to join the AACC for a special viewing of this production AND participate in a LIVE panel with our Philly thought leaders. Thanks to our Business Executive Sponsor TD Bank, registration for the online event is complimentary! Your questions and feedback will be shared live as this event will be attended by others from the black business community across the country!

The African-American Chamber of Commerce of PA, NJ & DE is committed to ensuring our members have a seat at the table. #BuildingBackBlack is the Chamber's commitment to our members and black businesses across the Philadelphia TriState Region to build an infrastructure and create continued access to capital, resources and opportunities that will allow black businesses to flourish and remain anchors in our communities.
