DHS conducting survey on race and entry to foster care

The Philadelphia Department of Human Services is conducting a Entry Rate and Disproportionality Study to gain input on the issue of disproportionate representation of families of color in the foster care system in Philadelphia.

The study is being conducted by a research team led by Dr. Vivian Gadsden at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Child Research Center and the Penn Futures Project. The study was commissioned by the Philadelphia Department of Human Services and has received funding from Casey Family Programs.
