Camp Joy, located in Delaware County, Sharon Hill, PA. is seeking enthusiastic workers for our 5- week summer camp program.
Neighbors 2 Neighbor CDC hosts this Summer Day Camp for youth between 4-12 years of age. This 5-week program, run by certified teachers and counselors, consists of reading club, theater shows, roller skating, amusements/arcade games, swimming and bowling. Field trips are to such sites as the Franklin Institute, Adventure Aquarium, Mann Music Center, Herrs Potato Chip Factory, Turkey Hill Ice Cream Factory and Academy of Natural Sciences.
This program culminates with a show, given by the participants, showing their creative and acting abilities. Breakfast and snacks are provided to all camp participants. Before care and after care services are available to families requiring extended hours for a nominal fee.
Qualifications:
- Must be minimum 18 years of age and graduated from High School.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Must have a sincere desire to work with children.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure guidance and safety of all campers
- Must help with opening and closing of camp
- Plans and leads activities with the group as indicated on the camp schedule
- Assist the Camp Director in conducting the daily program schedule of camp
- Cares for and maintains camp equipment and property
- Maintain a positive relationship with campers, parents and other staff members
- Participate in and assist with all programing efforts
- Attempts to answer parents’ concerns or make appropriate referrals to the Camp Director
- Swim with campers when necessary
- Be a strong role model for the campers
- Participate in ALL trainings
- Wear camp T-Shirt daily and dress appropriately
- Understand all camp policies and procedures
- All other duties as assigned
