Montco Point-In-Time homeless count set for January 24

The Montgomery County Office of Housing and Community Development in collaboration with Your Way Home will conduct the Annual Point-in-Time (PIT) Count on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Over 100 volunteers are expected to assist in the effort to accurately count all people experiencing homelessness on one night in Montgomery County.

The 2022 PIT Count identified 568 individuals sleeping in one of the County’s emergency shelters (including hotel rooms paid for with public funding), transitional housing projects, or outdoors.

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is a count of sheltered and unsheltered people experiencing homelessness on a single night in January. The PIT Count helps to determine which services are most needed in the community and to secure funding for homelessness services and programming.

If you are experiencing homelessness, Your Way Home volunteers will be out canvassing the communities of Montgomery County between the hours of 6pm and 10pm on Tuesday, January  24th 2023. All Code Blue Shelters will be open on this night.
