Free access to information is key to a vibrant democracy. The recently launched Campaign Finance Dashboard allows residents to explore campaign contributions to candidates and other groups, as well as expenditures.
The tool is interactive and further reinforces the City’s commitment to transparency through open data and visualizations of it. The dashboard equips residents with the information available on Philadelphia candidates’ campaign finance activity when they’re making important voting decisions. The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT) and the Board of Ethics (BOE) collaboratively built the dashboard and created a video tutorial to provide users with an in-depth look at how to use the tool and interpret its data.
