The Lester Ross Memorial Fund was created to honor a man well-known among the homeless services community, who passed away from COVID-19 in 2020 and whose remains were left unclaimed. Donations from local nonprofit organizations, community residents, and local leaders helped fund a burial for Mr. Ross and the remains of 23 men and women in 2022.
On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. the community will gather to bury 50 formerly homeless individuals at Mt. Peace Cemetery (3111 W. Lehigh Ave.). Please join us as we provide them with a dignified burial and resting place.
