NCN offers workshop on improvements to federal grantmaking

Learn how to take advantage of newly announced improvements to federal grantmaking processes.

The federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recently announced significant revisions to the Uniform Guidance that promise big, long-sought changes in how organizations access grant funding at the federal, state, and local levels. For many nonprofits, this will mean easier application and reporting processes, better funding for indirect costs/overhead, and much more.

The networks of the National Council of Nonprofits are hosting a free webinar with OMB officials Deidre Harrison and Steven P. Mackey and additional experts to discuss these historic revisions, implementation timelines, and real-life implications for charitable nonprofits.

Why the changes matter

The newly released rewrite addresses longstanding problems in government grants not fully covering nonprofits' actual costs, advances equity by making grants accessible to more organizations and communities, and makes other significant reforms that will reduce bureaucratic barriers and burdens. They also reduce costs of seeking, performing, and reporting on grants using federal funds.
