Children First advocates for child needs in City budget talks

Children First is reaching out with an opportunity to advocate for kids in the Philadelphia city budget. Here is a link to a sign-on letter encouraging Philadelphia City Council to invest in children and families by:

  • Increasing the share of property taxes going to the School District of Philadelphia from 55% to 58%.
  • Expanding PHLpreK by 250 seats.
  • Ensuring that pandemic-funded out-of-school time programs at the School District are preserved.
  • Reinvesting all cost savings from reduced juvenile incarceration in diversion programs.

If you support the letter, please sign on by Wednesday, May 22. Both organizations and individuals can sign. For questions and more information, contact Stefanie Arbutina.
