In this session, attendees will learn the fundamentals of LGBTQ+ competency, including appropriate terminology, variations in the LGBTQ+ experience from an intersectional perspective, and social determinants of health impacting LGBTQ+ individuals. Presenters will highlight behavioral health concerns, medical issues, and common barriers to care unique to the LGBTQ+ community, and provide guidance for LGBTQ+ sensitive clinical practices.
