Training Summit celebrates 60th anniversary of Freedom Summer

The Andrew Goodman Foundation has announced that on July 31 and August 1, it will host its ninth annual National Civic Leadership Training Summit, themed ’64-’24: The 60th Anniversary of Freedom Summer. This event is open to everyone and we encourage you to register today to secure your spot!

During this virtual event, Andrew Goodman Ambassadors and young people from across the country will gather to hear inspiring panels and participate in training sessions, just as young organizers did ahead of Freedom Summer. They will leave the event prepared and ready to lead the movement of young voters to the 2024 General Election and beyond.

Young people have always been and will always be the changemakers who push us toward a just and inclusive democracy. This summer, young people across the nation will hearken back to Freedom Summer 1964 as they create their own movement. Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Freedom Summer is not merely an exercise in nostalgia; it is a call to action. It reminds us of the enduring importance of advocating for equality, justice, and human dignity. By honoring the legacy of Freedom Summer, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society.

We invite you to join us for this important event and be part of a powerful movement that continues to shape the next generation of young civic leaders.

Register today.
