RSVP seeking virtual volunteers to coach K-5 students in reading

For nearly 50 years, RSVP has been responding to our communities needs by crafting responsive and innovative programming to meet the requirements of students and their families, adults and seniors as well as nonprofit organizations. All programs share one common thread: they utilize volunteers to make a difference.

As demand for services increased with hybrid learning in place, many RSVP programs shifted to virtual in order to keep volunteers and students safe.  As a result, online tutors are needed to support students in the Philadelphia School District in reading to enhance their proficiency and comprehension skills through their Philly Student Support Program.

Volunteer tutors will meet with a student via Zoom during a 30 minute session. The student will read from a book selected from an e-library and the pair will discuss the story.  Training and support will be provided through RSVP.
