New city schools head to go on 100-day listening tour

Over the course of his first 100 days, School District of Philadelphia Superintendent Dr. Tony Watlington, Sr. will host 80 Listening & Learning Sessions wherein he meets students, families, District staff, and community members invested in our student’s achievement. And that means he needs to hear from you. Before our children return to school on August 29, Dr. Watlington needs to hear your concerns, your hopes, and your desires for the School District of Philadelphia.

Please hold Wednesday, July 27 from 12–1:30 p.m. for the Listening & Learning Session at 440 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia with Dr. Watlington. You’ll do the talking; he’ll do the listening.

On Dr. Watlington’s first day as Superintendent, Mayor Kenney turned to him and said, “I can’t think of another role in this city that matters as much as Mayor than that of the Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia.” And he is right. Public education touches every Philadelphia community and every industry across this region. It is for this very reason that Dr. Watlington needs to hear from you. I hope you will join us!
