PA rent/property tax rebate will be higher for seniors, disabled

Older Pennsylvanians and Pennsylvanians with disabilities who qualify for a rebate on rent or property taxes paid in 2021 will receive more money than usual this year. On top of their annual rebate, recipients will also receive a one-time bonus rebate equal to 70 percent of their original rebate amount. You might be eligible!

If you haven't already, make sure to submit an application for Pennsylvania's Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program by December 31. If you have questions or need assistance with your application, visit the PA Department of Revenue's Online Customer Service Center to find helpful tips and answers to FAQs about the program, or call 1-888-222-9190.

The one-time bonus rebate will provide additional relief to those feeling the impacts of inflation and rising costs of essential goods and services, like food and utilities, the most.

The bonus rebates are funded by the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). AARP Pennsylvania proudly supports the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and advocated for the one-time use of ARPA funds to help eligible Pennsylvanians combat inflation and remain in their homes -- where they want to be. We encourage all eligible residents to apply by the December 31 deadline.
