PPC: What the proposed PA budget means for families

Pennsylvania Governor Shapiro’s proposed 2023-24 budget totals $44.3 billion, an 8% increase over the enacted 2022-23 budget. Gov. Shapiro’s first budget address focuses on public safety, workforce development and education funding.

It also makes incremental increases in programs that benefit Pennsylvania children and families—investments in pre-k, career and technical education (CTE), nutrition and mental health services will make Pennsylvania a better place for children and families.
