PEF's lunch gala focuses on student creativity

Dive into Educate Philly - Design 101: Unleashing Creativity & Curiosity in Philadelphia’s Students, the Philadelphia Education Fund’s (PEF)’s annual Gala Luncheon. Join us as our panelists speak to the role that creativity, the arts, and curiosity can play in inspiring students’ intrinsic motivation, engaging them in learning, and helping them solve problems.

This year we welcome panelists Natalie Nixon, CEO of Figure8 Thinking, Global Speaker, and Author of The Creativity Leap, and Seth Berger, Founder of AND1 and currently, Managing Director of the Sixers Innovation Lab. We thank our Honorary Chair, Dr. Tony Watlington, Superintendent of the School District of Philadelphia and our Moderator, Farah Jimenez, President and CEO of PEF.

Educate Philly benefits PEF and the Philadelphia Scholars Scholarship Fund and honors our students and their accomplishments. The Rising Star Award recognizes the high achievement of two high school seniors in our College Access Program. And the Baldadian Shining Star Award is given to a college sophomore or junior of outstanding academic success and character.
