Grants for 'historically disadvantaged businesses' now available

The Historically Disadvantaged Business Assistance (HDBA) Grant Program launched on Monday, February 5th, 2024.

This grant program is provided in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (PA-DCED), and funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021.

This grant aims to help mitigate the negative economic impacts of COVID-19 on historically disadvantaged small businesses. Eligible businesses must be in the State of Pennsylvania and owned by racial or ethnic minorities. A total of $10.5 million will be awarded. Each business selected for the grant will receive up to $10,000. We anticipate funding at least 1,000 small businesses in all of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties.

This is not a first-come, first-served grant program. If a preliminary application is submitted within the window of Monday, February 5 through Friday, February 23, 2024, it will be considered.

Before beginning the preliminary application, potential applicants must visit the PA CDFI Network’s program landing page to review the program guidelines and FAQs.

This webpage is available for any eligible small businesses now.

Technical assistance will be available through the Support Center established for this program. Please visit the PA CDFI Network’s landing page to access this contact information.
